RDMF are similar to pressure sand filter with one additional media ’Anthracite ’ for better filtration results.
The normally used filter media are sand and Anthracite. Since anthracite contains 60% carbon and has lower silica content, DMF is most suitable for pretreatment of Boiler feed water.
Various types of filter beds are available, depending on operating requirement treated manganese dioxide as filtering media is used for iron removal as the water passes downward through the filter bed, Suspended masteries trapped and accumulated on the bed. As this foreign matter gradually accumulates loss of head occurs, indicating the need for cleaning the bed by backwashing. This is accomplished by an upward flow of water which expands and loosens the bed, releasing accumulated to the waste stream. The filter bed is then down rinsed.
Thus compacting the bed IN RACF Raw water is passed through activated carbon where due to adsorption properties of charcoal , contaminants related to test, odor & color are removed from water, producing odor less and organic free treated water. Activated carbon granules of varying iodine value are available with us starting from 300 IV to 1500 IV depends on application. The media design also facilitates easy backwash & rinse resulting in longer life of the carbon granules.
